AP Comparative Government and Politics

Have you ever wondered why we have such an involvement with the Middle Eastern countries? The price of gas is going through the roof. Our young men and women are trying to build a new Iraq, but are seeing death and destruction on a daily basis. Is America winning the fight against the many groups working to harm our allies and us? The following project is designed to get to the heart of this issue.
Part One: The Research
You will be part of a group that will investigate some aspect of the conflict or issue in the region.

Part Two: The Presentation
Students will give a Twenty-minute presentation concerning the topic they have chosen.
The following is a break down of what is required to earn the 400 points for a perfect score.
Point Categories
Giving the presentation (100 points)
You need to present in a professional manner. Give a feeling of confidence about your knowledge in the subject. Presentation looks rehearsed and sounds interesting. You will have half a class (22min) to give your insights about the topic. In a partnership both have to present.
A hand out for everyone in the class (40 Points)
Ex. giving out timelines creates vocabulary notes, illustrate graphs. A hand out may be a collage of pictures to accentuate the presentation. You may want images of the various symbols. The quality of the document is taken into consideration.
Bibliography (10 points)
An annotated bibliography that includes all sources (at least 100). Do not forget to include sources for images as well as written content.
The useof technology to teach the class your topic (50 points)
Power point, background music, tapes of speeches, well done posters, discuss with teacher
A comprehensive paper explaining your topic (200 points)
Analyze the struggle or issue. Give a succinct and interesting account of what has happened or is presently going on.
All material is due the day of the presentation, except the paper, which is due Wednesday, June 8th.
