Fundraisers:
- Don’t do anything that the boy scouts would do.
- This is a political campaign so think more on the lines of what recent presidents have done such as Bush and Obama.
- Think of something where many people will come because they will pay a good amount of money to come in.
- Have all of the specifications done making sure that a person reading your fundraiser wouldn’t ask simple questions. Example- “When is this happening?”
- Once you come up with an idea such as a benefit concert or auction explain what will happen during this fundraiser like a small summary.
- Make it so that if the person really wanted to go right now they would know the location, how much it will cost it to get in, who’s going be there, and what’s going happen.
- Make sure you have a certain amount of money that you will make from that fundraiser.

Newspaper Ad:
- Pick a certain policy that your party will use in the Ad.
- Put around 3 main points on that policy on the Ad.
- Try to add your logo there so that the person who first sees it will know what political party you are in.
- Based on your policy, such as education, you will use relating photos to that policy.
- Example: education and there are kids writing and teachers helping them.
Financial accounting sheet:
- I recommend that to do this you create a table on your computer that will have two columns one will show what was donated and in that same column and who donated it.
- In the next column write the amount of money given by that person or the amount of money that person paid to get the material.
- There will be several rows like 5 or more.
- On the bottom you will have your total amount of money that was donated that week.
- You should have one of these sheets by the end of every week even if nothing was donated.
- By already having this document saved on your computer you can easily print it out for each week.
- Example: John donated a binder / $4.99
- Explain how you would market your campaign for the rest of the country
- How would you spend the money you earned from your fundraisers?
- Would you try to get the support of the South? West? New England?
- For example, if you are a liberal party, maybe you would spend more time focusing on California, the tri-state area, and major cities because they are also more liberal.

Press Releases
- Write 1-4 paragraphs in which you take a major news event that has happened recently and explain your party’s stance on it. What are you opinions?
- You can “quote” your president or others in your party on how your party feels about it. (These quotes do not have to be real)
- Note: Do not introduce it with a news article. You may find an event to use by looking through the news papers, but don’t talk about an article and what it says.
- This is a story that you would send to newspapers to make articles with.
- Be sure to include a press release about the nomination of your party’s candidate.
Brochure/Flyer
- Introduction to the party
- Platform ideas and some sort of statement of principals
- Photos that represent the ideas of your party (logo, candidate, things that have to do with your party, etc.)
- Should include an address for people to “contribute” (Does not have to be real. Can use McMahon address)
Bibliography and Assignments
- Make the assignments page and bibliography separate
- Cite work as used by each student (i.e. Brandon: then below it list his sources)
- Easy Bib, but make sure that all of the categories are filled in
- MLA format
- For the assignment page, list each student, their assignments/ contributions (regardless of whether or not they were completed) and how many points each one was worth.
Support from Public Paper
- At least 20 different special interest groups that would financially support you party
- Politics1.com
- Opensecrets.org
- Give short description under each group why they would support your party
Platforms
- Each person in your party will pick a different topic (platform) that is debated in politics and choose a side that your party will support
- Explain what your party would want to change in the topic
- Find support to make your argument more persuasive
- Don’t BS. Please.
Statement of Principles
- Explain priorities of your party in detail
- Explain main focuses of what your party wants to accomplish
- Be positive, inspiring, and optimistic!
